About our Current Founder's Series
Masanobu Fukuoka (Japanese: 福岡 正信, 2 February 1913 – 16 August 2008) was a Japanese farmer and philosopher celebrated for his natural farming and re-vegetation of desertified lands. He was a proponent of no-till, herbicide and pesticide free cultivation methods from which he created a particular method of agriculture, commonly referred to as "natural farming" or "do-nothing farming".
In this Series, we honor him as the first in our "Food Forest Founders" Series. The first of 3 subjects in this series, each Fukuoka will feature 1 unique combination of portrait, landscape and inspiring quote such as "Do-nothing just receive what is there with a humble and grateful heart" for a max mint of 1008 total Fukuoka NTFs.
